IAP Internship Testimonials

“If I had to explain my internship at IAP in one word it would be worthwhile. IAP presented me with an opportunity to understand what it truly means to be a professional and what it will take in order to find success in this field. Through both classroom lectures and the practical application I now have a solid foundation of human movement and now have the tools and understanding to continue to build upon that foundation. I now speak to peers with confidence because of the real life coaching opportunities that I had in this internship. This internship has left me excited and hungry to continue my growth in this field.  I would recommend that anyone seriously considering a career in exercise science consider the experience IAP has to offer. The coaches of IAP will help you with absolutely any area you wish to receive help in, whether that is through one on one coaching of movement or giving some extra time to explain a concept. These coaches truly want to you become the best possible coach that you can possibly be and bring yourself to the next level and I thank them.”

“The internship that IAP provided me was like nothing I could have predicted.  After receiving a degree in Exercise Science I thought I had learned everything I needed to exceed in this field.  It was not until I came here that I found out how much more there was to learn to be the best.  I was extremely lucky to be put in a situation where I was learning from coaches who have a lot of experience and who could help me with anything at the drop of a hat.  Learning everything that I have in the past 3 months at IAP has provided me with such a huge knowledge base to become a successful professional in this field and for that I am truly grateful.”

“I had thought about becoming a sports performance coach for a long time but it wasn’t until I came to IAP that those thoughts started becoming a reality. It was made clear from day one that the staff were serious about training the interns into the best coaches we could be. They gave me their best effort and in return I gave mine. It was a journey and I pushed myself more every day mainly because the staff expects nothing less than your best. Sure there were ups and downs along the way but the feedback I received from the coaches helped develop myself into a more effective coach. I became a leader and a stronger individual. I was amazed how much more I learned about helping athletes run properly. This facility has a tremendous dedication towards training the interns and gave me the tools necessary to accomplish my own goals. If you’re serious about becoming a great coach and making a difference in the lives of others, you will not find a better place to make it happen than IAP.”

“Integrated Athletic Performance provided me with an unbelievable internship opportunity.  From day one until now I have learned something new every day.  Through staff training and lectures, I was provided with the skills to work with athletes and adults.  Coming into IAP as a certified personal trainer I realized that there was so much more to learn.  All the coaches are excellent at what they do and break down every little movement so you can fully understand the science behind IAP’s methodology.  After working hard every day for 3 months IAP has offered me a job and I gladly accepted.  I definitely recommend IAP as the best sports performance facility to learn the skills required to be successful in this field.”

“IAP provided me with an internship opportunity unlike any other.  The depth of the science curriculum, mixed with the amount of time in live coaching situations gives interns the chance to maximize their learning experience.  I certainly benefited from the program because of the openness of the coaches and their willingness to work with me to reach my full potential as a coach.  Learning the movements and techniques and the science behind it are concepts and information that can be applied anywhere in the sports performance arena.  I’m thankful for the chance to have been a part of this program and the best athletic development center on the east coast.  I’d tell anyone looking to learn all they can about sports performance, and coaching, in the best possible environment, IAP is where you need to go.”

“The internship program at IAP has truly been a great experience.  With a combination of both, classroom and practical settings I not only got the opportunity to learn a lot about the field of exercise science, but also was given the chance to apply it in real life situations. All the coaches at IAP do a great job explaining the science of the field and create a fun environment that promotes learning. In addition to the science of the field, the internship program at IAP focuses on several life lessons, making it a program that I would highly recommend to those looking to explore the field of sports performance.”

“Integrated Athletic Performance gave me a wonderful opportunity to be able to complete an internship. I learned more than I ever thought I would in one summer about their approaches to training athletes of all ages, the science of movements and skills that are taught, and a wide variety of ways to coach athletes. I would most certainly recommend IAP to anyone who is interested in the type of work they do. It was quite overwhelming for me at first, but completely worth it in the end.  I had a lot of fun and really appreciate everything the other coaches have taught me!”

“My internship at Integrated Athletic Performance was not about folding towels or sitting at a desk. The learning experience was based on classroom setting and the practical aspect of the field. All the coaches at IAP pushed me to improve my skills and succeed. During the three months I learned techniques of becoming a coach and improving my weaknesses. The end result was an employment opportunity which I accepted. Furthermore the IAP coaches are very open and dedicated to teaching which allows the interns to excel. I strongly recommend this internship position to anybody who is interested in the field.”

“My internship experience at Integrated Athletic Performance was by far the most important aspect of my college career.  The 600+ hour internship was tough but rewarding.  The program went beyond what you learn in the class room and took it to the next level.  It was here at IAP that I gained the knowledge of how to interact with athletes; how to take what I had learned and apply it to the field to reach a desired goal.

IAP gave me the opportunity to get live coaching experience under my belt.  I was able to work one on one with athletes as well as run group sessions.  I was a little nervous at first to undertake the lead role in some coaching sessions because of the standards that are set by the coaching staff.  Though expecting nothing but the best from each intern, the staff took good care to prepare us for our journey through the internship and it was very rewarding to build the confidence needed to get the job done.

Without IAP I would have left college with a giant gap between text book and application.  I have them to thank for not only connecting the dots, but going above and beyond to make sure I succeeded.  Thank you for a great experience.”

“I just want to thank Integrated Athletic Performance for allowing me to take part in your internship program. It was far above and beyond anything that I could have expected. IAP taught me real life applications for all of the information that I learned in school. I learned how to interact with clients and their families. I was forced to challenge myself to become the best at everything I do in the exercise science field. I feel that if I had not participated in the internship program I would have been trying for years to gain the knowledge that I learned in three months as one of their interns. Again I want to thank IAP for putting in the countless hours to share all of their knowledge and experiences with my internship class.”

“Velocity Sports Performance not only taught me more than I have ever learned in a classroom setting, but it also helped me to realize my strengths, weaknesses, and goals. David Pavia and Ned Simerlein both pushed me to perform at my best as a coach, and helped me to pursue and reach my goals. They did this by not only teaching me in a lecture form, but also by practical application. They took the time to get to know me on a personal level and have a genuine desire to see me succeed in my interests. I recommend this internship for anyone who has a desire to grow and learn within the field.”

“Velocity Sports Performance has put together a very thorough internship program.  I was very interested from the get go.  With lecture and practical settings, I was able to get a great understanding of sports performance.  I learned an enormous amount of information in a three month period.  The movement sessions really challenged myself but also gave me a great understanding of the proper movement mechanics of an athlete and how to coach them.  By putting in a lot of hard work, studying selected readings, and really challenging myself to excel, I was able to receive a full time job offer at the conclusion of my internship.  I accepted that position and I am now a Sports Performance Coach.  I truly recommend this internship to anyone interested in the field of sports performance and working with athletes.”
