Ned Simerlein, C.S.C.S

Director/ Partner

Ned Simerlein received his Bachelor of Arts in Health and Fitness from Purdue University where he began his career by assisting in training various college athletes. Ned completed an internship at the International Performance Institute (IPI) in Bradenton, Florida and became an assistant performance specialist. At IPI he worked with the 2004 NFL combine class, including three first round draft picks, the 2004 NBA draft prep program, multiple collegiate summer wood bat leagues and the U-17 US National Soccer Team including star Freddy Adu. Additionally, he served as the Director of the IMG baseball and basketball athletic performance division. After IPI Ned joined Velocity Sports Performance in 2005 as a coach and assisted and led the 2006-2008 NFL combine programs, producing 12 current NFL players and numerous others in the CFL, NFL Europe, and AFL. He has also worked with various MLB, MLL and other elite athletes. Within two years at VSP Ned was promoted to Sports Performance Director where he remained until 2009. In 2009, VSP closed it’s doors opening a window for Ned to pursue his dream or opening his own integrated athletic performance institute.

Ned is currently on the Central Connecticut State University exercise science advisory board and is a frequent presenter at local universities. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA weightlifting Level 1 coach.

Ace

Dave Pavia, C.S.C.S

Athletic Performance Specialist

Dave “Ace” Pavia graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Leisure Management, with a Health Fitness Concentration. While at Eastern CT he was a four year Varsity track and field athlete and in 2006 he was awarded Athlete of the Year by ECSU. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

After completing an internship at Velocity Sports Performance, he was offered a position as a sports performance coach in 2005. While at Velocity, he was promoted to a senior coach and eventually became the assistant sports performance director. At Velocity he was the Internship and College Athlete Coordinator. As the college coordinator he is responsible for the creation and execution of both the strength and movement programs of large groups of athletes with many individual needs. Dave has worked with a number of elite and now professional athletes. Coach Pavia has also recently presented at the Regional National Strength and Conditioning Association Conference (NSCA) on, “The Application of Acceleration into Multidirectional Movements.”

Offering close to five years of experience in training athletes, Dave’s responsibilities at IAP vary from training elite and professional athletes, developing new innovative methodology for our programs, and assisting with sales, marketing, and operations.

Andrew

Andrew Turner, C.S.C.S.

Athletic Performance Specialist

Andrew Turner graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in the spring of 2008.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Leisure Management with a Concentration in Health and Fitness.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Andrew excelled in Football, Basketball, and Baseball while growing up in Milford, CT.  Prior to joining the Integrated Athletic Performance staff, Andrew was a Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Sports Performance in Trumbull, CT.  He trained athletes of all ages and skill levels in a variety of different sports.  In addition to training athletes, Andrew trained groups of adults in movement type sessions to improve fitness, exercise technique, and body composition for a healthier life style.

At Integrated Athletic Performance, Andrew plays an active role in the development of new coaches and interns, and the program development for our small group adult training.  He is also certified through the American Heart Association in First Aid, CPR & AED.  Andrew is very excited to be a part of the IAP staff and to have the opportunity to work with athletes and adults in the community.

David Nicholson

Athletic Performance Specialist

David Nicholson graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Leisure Management, with a Sports Management Concentration. While at Eastern Connecticut he was a four year Varsity track and field athlete. In 2005 & 2006 he was awarded Athlete of the Year by ECSU. David was also an All-American at 400m in 2006.

After completing his career at Eastern, David was offered an Assistant Track and Field position at Division 1 Wagner College in Staten Island NY. Taking on the responsibilities of the Sprints and Jumps David coached numerous All-NEC and ECAC performers. While at Wagner, David also completed his MBA.

David’s responsibilities at IAP vary from organizing multimedia advertising, training elite and professional athletes, and assisting with sales, marketing, and operations.

Dustin Lebel

Athletic Performance Specialist

Dustin is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has been training adults for 3 years. He has completed a 1000 hour practicum under IAP Director Ned Simerlein and plans to continue his education and earn his degree in exercise science.  Dustin is currently the strength and conditioning coach for the Watertown High School Football team and is responsible for program implementation, speed & agility development, and evaluations.

Aside from coaching at IAP, Dustin is a certified International Boxing and Martial Arts Instructor under Sifu Richard Bustillo and has been coaching boxing and Muay Thai for over 5 years. He is also certified through the American Heart Association in First Aid, CPR & AED.

Helder Dos Santos

Athletic Performance Specialist

Helder Dos Santos will be graduating from Southern Connecticut State University in the fall of 2010. He will complete a Bachelors degree of science in Exercise Science with concentration in Human Performance. In high school Helder was a dual sport athlete in wrestling and soccer and earned the honor of being team captain for both sports. In the summer of 2010 Helder completed an internship at IAP that accumulated more than 500 hours. Helder is currently working on getting certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association to become a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is also a certified through the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Dan Yeadon

Athletic Performance Specialist

Dan Yeadon graduated from Plymouth State University in 2007. He received a Bachelors degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Applied Health Fitness. He also holds an Associates degree from Naugatuck Valley Community College in general studies with a main concentration in Physical Therapy Assistance. Growing up in New Hartford, CT Dan played indoor track and was captain of his baseball team at Northwestern Regional #7 high school. He also played on his Junior College’s basketball team.

Dan completed an internship accumulating over 500 hours at IAP before joining the staff as a coach in 2011. He is currently preparing to be a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the national strength and conditioning association. He is certified through the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Dan is excited to be part of the community in Oakville, and is dedicated to help athletes and adults of all ages reach their goals and live a healthy lifestyle.

Scott Putetti

Athletic Performance Specialist

Scott Putetti is a Certified Personal Trainer through the World Instructor Training Schools and has been coaching clients in a variety of sports for over 2 years.  Scott recently completed a 500 hour internship in April 2011 under IAP Director Ned Simerlein.  While completing his internship, Scott was able to assist and support the Athletic Performance Specialists with their clients programs.  He was given the opportunity to solely instruct and guide different clients due to the knowledge that he gained.  Scott has been actively involved in sports throughout high school and continues to participate in various sports today.  Scott continues to educate himself in different aspects of Nutrition, Functional Flexibility and Sports Training.  He is also certified through the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPT and AED.
